Our team is growing and we are currently seeking people to join us in the position of Senior Procurement Officer to work from one of our offices in either Docklands (Melbourne), Macquarie Park (in Sydney), employed on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Reporting to the Category Manager, with a dotted line to a large Key Account whilst working closely with the wider Operations Performance Team, the Senior Procurement Officer is responsible in supporting the development and execution of the category plan to deliver ISS’s Procurement and Supply Chain business transformation roadmap.

The focus of the Senior Procurement Officer will be to proactively evaluate and manage vendor partnerships to achieve business and client goals and identify and lead project initiatives within the category, delivering savings, operational efficiencies and risk mitigation to business sectors.

This is a key ‘hands on’ role in the Supply Chain and Procurement team, which will shape business improvement through detailed analysis that challenges the status quo to deliver true impact. We are looking for someone who is proactive, reliable and enjoys working in the detail as needed.

The Position:

• Manage assigned savings projects ‘end to end’ with key stakeholder management to ensure successful implementation
• Compile analytical data and solutions to inform the Category Manager of the potential project saving strategies
• Assist with a procurement process review and provide recommendations for change
• Execute the tendering and negotiation of designated services in a cost effective and timely manner
• Proactively communicate and educate supply chain partners on ISS and account specific processes and systems to achieve
• Foster long term relationships with third party vendors to strategically manage supplier contracts, resolving disputes and any vendor related issues that may need attention
• Actively collaborate to drive Social Procurement initiatives across projects and operations to generate social benefits such as increasing contracting opportunities for Social enterprises and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and businesses.
• Assist team to implement and deliver global/regional supply chain KPIs
• Continuously monitor and report on the risk and control environment in compliance with relevant regulatory, industrial legislation, contractual obligations and controls and in accordance with agreed policies, standards and procedures
• Work in a manner that ensures personal safety and the safety of others in the work environment.

Our ideal Candidate:

• Min 5 years’ experience using procurement methodologies to drive cost savings.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time along the Eastern Seaboard.
• Experience leading projects or transitions with large matrix cross functional teams.
• Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) – preferably IBM Trirega.
• Experience implementing an end-to-end category project from idea inception to business implementation.
• In depth analysis experience using multiple data sources to explore and agree a baseline and promote procurement savings.
• Evidence using influencing and negotiation skills to gain stakeholder approval in project execution.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with difficult stakeholders and conflict management.
• Well-developed time management and organisation skills with the ability to deal with multiple issues, pressures and deadlines concurrently.
• Flexibility for the completion of urgent projects beyond agreed working hours.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Confidentiality at all times.

Desirable Criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in a business related discipline.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• CIPS qualified or working towards completion.
• Subcontractor Category Management experience in Facilities Management and/or Financial Services Sector.
• Digital procurement experience with a leading P2P platform.
