Address About the role: We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join an engaged and dedicated procurement team within a growing SA state government department. This role acts as a senior member of the team, and the successful applicant will be responsible for leading a variety of procurement initiatives across the department, while also acting as a key subject matter expert on government procurement processes and policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies that support the organisation's objectives and deliver value for money.
Lead complex procurement projects, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation criteria, and contract negotiations.
Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes, policies, and regulations.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess market trends, and leverage opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with business needs and objectives.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met and identify areas for improvement.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience leading government procurement processes.
Have the ability to interpret and implement government procurement policies.
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and / or contract management.
Have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
Have excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
