About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Product Manager to join the Amscan’s dynamic and fast paced Product and Creative team. In a growing industry, we are seeking an experienced individual who is driven by innovation, has impeccable problem-solving skills and loves a party!

Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, the Senior Product Manager is responsible for leading a team to deliver the business’ commercial strategy through the implementation of new Product Development initiatives including third party range selection and management.

Day to Day duties including but not limited to:

• Develop and drive comprehensive product strategies which aligns to business goals, customer requirements and market trends.

• Lead all aspects of Product Development and range management regarding the product categories and commercial initiatives for which the role is responsible.

• Understand and communicate with internal stakeholders the market and upcoming trends, both local and international, ensuring our product offer is relevant as leaders in the celebrations market.

• Liaise closely with other group entities to understand their Product Development pipeline and where we can collaborate effectively.

• Work closely with commercial leaders and various departments to ensure our standard product range, and any customer specific programs, meets customer requirements, product safety standards and compliance and required timelines.

• Provide leadership, motivation, and direction to direct reports

• Work closely with product sourcing stakeholders, especially group entities, to ensure we are buying the right products, at the right price and through the right factories and vendors.

• Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure relevant information is made available to guarantee new products are brought in as scheduled.

• Support in the businesses licensing activities and drive development in key franchise areas as well as maintaining any administrative or approval requirements.

• Monitor agreed timelines to ensure products and ranges are executed correctly and as planned and proactively communicate with relevant stakeholders along the process.

• Collaborate with the marketing team and provide direction to the organisation and communication for product launches and updates.

• Align with and support the Head of Commercial Operations to drive and work through initiatives to improve team productivity and moral and provide suggestions to streamline product management systems and processes to achieve efficiencies and continuous improvement within the department and across the business.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum five years’ experience in a Product Development management role or equivalent including relevant qualifications.

• Experience in Licensing, FSC, APCO and sustainable Product Development is preferred.

• Outstanding skills in Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite technology, adaptation to new software programs and has a willingness to find solutions and drive efficiency.

• Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team with a friendly and engaging approach that inspires and motivates team members.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, present ideas persuasively and build relationships both internally and externally.

• Strong business acumen and strategic mindset, with the ability to align product initiatives with business objectives and exceptional customer experiences.

• Excellent project management abilities, experience to influence and support others and a track record of successfully delivering to agreed outcomes on time and within budget.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, market trends and translate this into easy-to-understand management information and make decisions including a view of customer needs, product performance and willingness to be creative and think outside of the box.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritise, be well organised and manage time effectively, work well under pressure, meet competing deadlines whilst maintaining strong attention to detail.
