The essential requirements for this role are:
- Experience in the provision of program supervision
- Experience in the delivery of general and / or sexual offending programs
- Ability to motivate, coach and mentor others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles
- Community engagement, key stakeholder liaison and/or working with special interest groups particularly in the criminal justice system knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and supervise the preparation and provision of complex reports
- Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences.
- Post graduate studies in a related field and affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded.
Appointment to the position of Senior Program Delivery Officer (SPDO) requires completion of intensive training to ensure newly appointed SPDOs are provided the necessary skills and information to deliver Queensland Corrective Services Offender Intervention programs. This training is a mandatory requirement following appointment to a Senior Program Delivery Officer position. You will be provided with program specific training in both content, delivery, and supervision methods. For Senior Program Delivery Officer's delivering sexual offending programs, you will be provided with training in the use of relevant assessment tools (STATIC-99R and STABLE-2007) to refer sex offenders to appropriate intervention programs.
