Senior Project Accountant - Property (Mat Leave Contract)

The companyWe have been engaged to recruit a Senior Project Accountant for an exciting, dynamic, fully integrated property development business.  The business consists of a diverse range of complementary offerings and is enjoying a strong period of financial growth.  They are currently managing several projects and have an exciting pipeline of work.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the organisation as a Senior Project Accountant on a mat leave contract.  Initially the role will be for 12 months with possibility for extension.  In a high-performing culture, you will work in a tight-knit team and report into the CFO.  You will be required to manage key relationships, both internally and externally, and across all levels.  The role will include elements of hands-on duties as well as higher level tasks.  It is a diverse role that will partner closely multiple areas of the business.  

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Play a strong support role in finalizing EOFY Accounts preparation for the external accountants
• Project cost reporting and reforecasting for live developments
• Liasing with financiers and development team for live developments
• Financier covenant reporting and compliance
• Preparation of monthly/quarterly management reports tracking financial performance against budget
• Feasibility reporting 
• Quarterly advisory board report preparation
• Leading role in any property settlements
• Cashflow forecasting and management
• Assisting the team with month-end processes as require
• Ad-hoc project work

The successful candidateIn order to secure this position, you will be a technical and hands-on accountant.  You will be adaptable and place a strong emphasis on relationship building and business partnering across all levels.  The following will be favourably looked upon:

• CA/CPA qualifications
• Relevant industry experience in a similar role, ideally within property
• Experience at an accounting firm - big 4, mid-tier or smaller firms will all be considered  
• Strong Excel skills
• Systems/ERP experience
• Stakeholder management experience across all levels
• Deadline-driven 
• Outstanding communication skills
