Strategic Sourcing Group
The Strategic Sourcing Group provides:
- Whole of government procurement solutions to achieve best value for the Victorian Government;
- Whole of government policy development and implementation of the State's Intellectual Property requirements;
- Procurement policy leadership supporting the Victorian Government Purchasing Board; and
- Management of the Standard Motor Vehicle Policy, VicFleet operations and the finance lease facility for government departments and agencies.
- using improved procurement technology and data to make informed decisions and drive savings for the Government;
- strengthening procurement oversight and governance arrangements;
- reducing complexity for buyers and suppliers through standardisation of procurement processes and administration; and
- improving procurement capability to support the VPS to make the best procurement decisions.
This exciting role is part of a small team responsible for supporting and coordinating a range of procurement systems and functionality to enhance procurement decision making and outcomes across Victoria.
Key Accountabilities
- Co-ordinate the delivery of relevant technology related projects as part of the Procurement Systems and Data function
- Manage contracts with external parties to deliver data and data-related services
- Provide subject matter expertise and contribute to the preparation and drafting of business requirements documents, user stories and other related pre-project documentation
- Liaise with stakeholders from central agencies, departments and other Victorian agencies as well as suppliers and technology providers in order to understand the full range of requirements, and ensure comprehensive and timely communication
- Coordinate required system testing and undertake post pilot/implementation reviews and evaluations
- Support the Strategic Sourcing Group as required across a range of activities
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate: * Subject matter expertise in procurement and/or technology related disciplines
- Experience in project coordination and contract management, a strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to provide strategic thinking leadership for staff and stakeholders, as well as the ability to articulate the vision and strategic goals for others
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with an ability to communicate complex issues appropriate to the audience
- Ability to maintain highly productive relationships with stakeholders at a range of levels of seniority
- Well-developed organisation skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload and competing priorities
- Sound decision making and judgement and an ability to deal comfortably with ambiguity and complexity
- Experience in procurement, contract or project management required
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, and/or significant experience in a similar role will be highly regarded, but not mandatory
