Your new Company:
This Developer does C&I and Utility Scale Solar and BESS projects and VPP’s throughout Australia with a multi GW portfolio. They lead the industry in designing, building and operating Virtual Power Plants and have been doing so for over a decade. They are a small high performing team.
Your new role:
Support external grid consultants on network studies through the Grid Connection process whilst working with the internal development team to understand Grid Connection capacity for new sites. Support the submission of connection enquiries and negotiate connection agreements with AEMO and NSP’s. You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the development of RFQ’s and facilitate the engagement of consultants to support the Grid Connection process for various development projects.
- Facilitating the preparation of Grid Connection studies by consultants including static studies, dynamic studies, and power quality assessments.
- Participating in the negotiation of technical requirements with relevant NSP’s and use your technical knowledge to ensure a reasonable solution is found to any technical problems.
- Collaborating with key OEM(s) on developing portfolio optimised technical solutions for Grid Connection equipment, plant control and generating units that can be utilised on multiple sites.
An experienced Project Engineer with Power Systems knowledge of NER Chapter 5 for R0 to R1 with a strong understanding the process for Solar and BESS projects >30MW. You have:
- Experience dealing with NSPs and have relevant contacts within those organisations.
- Familiarity with the AEMO connection application process.
- Familiarity with power system modelling software including PSSe and PSCAD.
- Experience with utility scale solar PV and/or battery energy storage systems.
- Power system design experience.
