Job Opportunity
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will support capital, operational and major maintenance projects within your area of responsibility to ensure that the factory's assets and resources are optimized to meet the defined business requirements. This will involve overseeing and contributing to projects that enhance the overall efficiency and functionality of the factory, ultimately aligning with the organization's strategic objectives. This position will be based in Sarina but will be supplemented by occasional travel to our other eight Northern Queensland Milling locations as required.
Responsibilities will include:
Oversee a large and diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring effective coordination and management of all aspects, including project planning, resource allocation, risk assessment, and timeline adherence. Utilize comprehensive project management techniques to handle various project types and complexities, ensuring each project aligns with organizational goals and delivers optimal outcomes.
Collaborate with the Projects Manager to coordinate and manage the strategic program of works, including project documentation, external contract management, capital expenditure, and project team resources.
Work closely with Reliability Engineers, Services Engineers, and Planners on program scope and progress.
Engage with key stakeholders to ensure projects meet agreed milestone dates, performance standards, team capability, and effective problem resolution.
Conduct due diligence on submissions from the reliability team, complete project feasibility studies, and design necessary equipment and plant installations to achieve project goals.
Provide coaching and mentoring to Design, Project, and Reliability Engineers.
Audit compliance with reliability processes, work management practices, procedures, and technical standards related to Continuous Improvement.
The Successful Applicant
Our ideal candidate will hold Qualifications in Engineering, Project Management (or a relevant discipline) or be able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience within a similar role in a heavy industry environment. Previous experience within the sugar industry will be highly regarded. Ideally you will be familiar with systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Including Microsoft Projects).
