Senior Project Manager

Transgrid operates and manages the major high voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, connecting generators, distributors and major end users.
Our core role is to connect electricity consumers to a safe, secure and reliable network through efficient maintenance, proficient operation of assets and prudent investment. Our network is the backbone of the NEM, enabling energy trading between Australia's three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a role in the delivery of a nation-building renewable energy project that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

As the Senior Project Manager, you will deliver the project management function for a portion of the Waratah Super Battery (WSB) project to ensure it is delivered on time, within budget, to the specified standards, in accordance with Transgrid policies and procedures.

The project management function will include but not be limited to:

• Management and coordination of all project activities related to their section of the project
• Project Governance and Assurance
• Risk management
• Project Tracking and Reporting

You will ensure consistency, accuracy and efficiency in project delivery, cost and risk management across the project lifecycle.

You will be someone who is adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment with an ability to be flexible and take on challenges with finesse and ease. Problem solving will be second nature which you will manage with confidentiality and sensitivity in mind at all times.

With your exceptional stakeholder management skills, you will build strong partnerships across the organisation and build credibility quickly with your internal stakeholders and our Delivery Partner ensuring the best outcomes for the project.

What we expect from you:

• Tertiary qualifications at degree level in engineering or relevant discipline
• High level business and commercial acumen
• Experience in contract management and negotiation
• Highly collaborative and decisive behaviour style
• High level ability to think outside the box and drive change
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable

• Extensive experience in managing High Voltage Substations and/or Transmission Lines projects
  • Project Management qualifications at diploma or advanced diploma or degree level
• experience in directing field construction teams
  • extensive experience in managing project integration and third parties interfaces across multiple project workstreams
