Senior Project Manager - Remote Power Services

The Opportunity
This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's Program Delivery team. You will collaborate with talented professionals working on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.
The successful applicant will be working as part of the Program Delivery team, to oversee the planned, preventative and emergency management activities of essential service contractors operating throughout regional and remote Western Australia. You will be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to monitor contractual compliance, provide technical advice, inform asset management planning and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

The WSP Program Delivery team
The WSP Program Delivery team has had a long association with the delivery of essential services to remote Aboriginal communities in Western Australia and works closely with WA Government agencies and regional service providers to manage the delivery of these services. WSP also supports the design and delivery of capital works programs to manage program risks and to improve infrastructure in remote locations throughout WA.
We are now seeking to expand our internal power and project management capabilities to support the management and upgrade of infrastructure in remote communities, with a focus on power supply system assets including:

• Power station buildings & ancillary equipment
• Generation equipment
• Hybrid and renewable systems
• Distribution systems (LV & HV)
• Remote monitoring and control systems.

WSP is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced person with relevant qualifications and experience in the operation and management of power systems with a focus on Project Management and Contract Administration. The position is Perth-based with the potential for occasional travel to remote sites.
About You
You're likely to have demonstrable experience in the following areas:

• University or trade qualifications and certifications (electrical).
• Demonstrated experience with power systems (generation, transmission, distribution, automation) including planning, operation, maintenance and monitoring.
• Project management and contract administration experience, including leadership, procurement, cost control and management of complex projects following relevant Australian standards.
• Knowledge of Asset Management Systems and Frameworks, including maintenance planning and asset renewal.
• Experience with standalone/Remote Power systems and renewable technology.
• Sound knowledge of relevant Australian and Western Australian electrical standards.
• Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to review external party technical reports relating to power supply systems and to provide technical analysis and advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Remote and/or Aboriginal community infrastructure experience (desirable).
