With a focus on projects associated with mining operations and resource development, this is an exciting opportunity to drive and deliver key technical understanding on a 9-month assignment. This is a highly visible and influential role with accountability for high quality technical delivery, with a focus on improving asset productivity and social value.
This role will support mining, concentrators, smelting and refining operations, as well as studies and projects.
Duties include:
- Support mining operations to integrate dewatering into 2 year, 3-month and 2 week plans
- Develop Operational Water Plans (OWP) as per Water Standard requirements
- Support project hydrogeological drilling programs
- Maintain operational water balances, review, and improve
- Provide support to Water Engineering SME's on surface water management and phased improvement planning
- Coordinate Catchment risk management
- Engage and interface with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including operations, projects, engineering, geoscience, mine planning, environment and closure SMEs (internal) and regulators and native title representatives (external)
- Drive a strong safety culture, empower our people, pursue operating perfection and serve our customers
What you'll need to succeed:

- Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to produce quality, concise reports and presentations;
- Demonstrated technical experience in mine water management and execution of hydrogeological studies (including drilling);
- Experience with supporting projects through study phases.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening if required.
- Full Australian working rights.
