As our Senior Projects Officer you will be assisting the Director Infrastructure and Operations to Manage the Capital Works programs for infrastructure, keeping projects on time, on budget and within the required scope. Working with the Infrastructure team you will provide technical support applying your previous project management and contract management skills to assist with procurement activities and budget proposals.
You will have a small team to oversee for the general projects and maintenance activities showing great leadership and ensuring all staff are working with work, health and safety principles at front of mind. Liaising with customers and various contractors also, you will be a skilled communicator both written and verbal ensuring positive outcomes for all.
As an experienced project manager with a technical background your well-developed organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work under strict deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail will ensure the success of the infrastructure team.
To be successful in this role your skills will include;
- 3-5 years project management experience
- Diploma in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline, with considerable experience in project and construction management, or knowledge and skills acquired through the completion of a degree.
- Knowledge and experience in construction principles and practices and building services.
- Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of legislative regulations and procedural guidelines.
- Capability to manage complex contracts, agreements, and project plans.
- Experience in a similar leadership role with local government experience an advantage.
- High level of computer literary proficient in Microsoft office suite including MS Projects and AUTOCAD
- Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety principles and practices
- Current Norther Territory C Class Licence
It would also be advantageous to have experience in a technical services environment in a Local Government setting along with knowledge of the NT Subdivision and Development Guidelines.
