Together, we can contribute to a more connected, compassionate mental health and criminal justice system.Job locationForensicare provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria's 14 prisons with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region. This position is based at Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's west, provides 75 prison-based custodial mental health beds as well as assessments and outpatient services provided in maximum-security forensic mental health complex within the medium-security prison.About the Role:The Moroka Program provides specialist mental health care to people in prisons who demonstrate repetitive and entrenched complex and challenging behaviours associated with mental illness, predominately personality disorder. It operates from a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) framework, with training, supervision and support provided to staff. The Senior Psychologist plays an important role as a member of the multidisciplinary team, undertaking program suitability assessments, structured diagnostic assessments, and delivering individual and group-based treatment in the DBT framework. The role includes opportunities to provide outreach assessment and intervention at other locations, and to provide training to clinical and correctional staff in best practice for working with complex and challenging behaviours.About You:
  • Demonstrated commitment to mental health recovery.
  • Skills in clinical assessment and delivery of individual and group-based treatment with complex clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex organisational environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interested in and experienced in working with behavioural approaches
  • Experienced P2s may be considered for this position
What you need:
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course or equivalent, or a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
  • The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential.
