Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will be responsible for the daily activities of the Purchasing Team to ensure orders are placed and followed up with new and existing vendors within a continuous improvement environment.
In your new role you will:
- Work with the Purchasing Officers to review, assign and action purchasing requisitions in line with demands generated from SAP MRP
- Meet business needs to achieve supply of goods & services in a timely, high quality and cost productive manner
- Work collaboratively with the contracts department to establish and provide purchase orders generated by SAP MRP and manually provided requirements
- Action requests to generate Purchase Orders for Special Non MRP requirements
- Proactively establish regular back-order reporting with key suppliers to maintain accurate planned delivery dates
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships whilst negotiating costs and terms & conditions
- Continually investigate alternate components and sources
- Communicate supply issues with internal customers and offer alternative items or suppliers
About You:
To be successful, you will have:
- Completion of an advanced certificate in Purchasing/Material Management is preferred, or knowledge gained from more than 5 years practical experience and/or other Purchasing/Procurement training
- SAP MRP11 or other ERP system experience
- Manufacturing/Technical/Engineering industry experience desirable
- Demonstrated communication experience with various stakeholders
