How you'll make an impactYou will be part of the International Applications Team responsible for the Luminos Claims platform. The team consists of Business Analysts, Developers, Functional & Automation testers and a Support team.As a Senior QA Engineer you will operate as a key member of the Quality Assurance Cohort and critical in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software systems. You will play a pivotal role in the software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and execute comprehensive testing strategies.On a day to day basis you will:
- Review project requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to understand the scope of testing and identify potential gaps or ambiguities
- Develop comprehensive test plans outlining the testing approach, strategies, timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies
- Create detailed test cases covering functional, non-functional, and edge cases, ensuring thorough coverage of system behaviour and requirements
- Execute test cases manually or using automated testing tools, following defined test procedures and methodologies
- Document and report defects found during testing
- Conduct regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionality, retesting fixed defects, and verifying enhancements
- Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, test results, and other testing artifacts for future reference and audit purposes
- Eligibility to obtain baseline security clearance
- Tertiary qualifications or certification in software development or allied discipline
- Demonstrated experience in manual Functional testing
- Sound understanding of the role of Quality Assurance in the SDLC
- Demonstrated ability to identify, capture & resolve complex issues
- Experience with modern software development tools including JIRA, Confluence, Continuous Integration
- Experience in software & project delivery teams, including estimation, sprint planning and test strategies
