Job description

Due to company growth, we are seeking a Senior Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse based in Canberra with wound experience and a willingness to travel regionally as required.

This position is offered as a permanent part time position 2 - 3 days a week to start with view to more days for the right applicant. Working hours are between 9am - 5pm weekdays only and will require travel to service facilities across the ACT.

Wound Innovations is a growing national service providing gold standard clinical support across a range of clinical settings. As well as having the opportunity to truly make a difference, the successful candidate will be well supported by our friendly national team and have access to free inhouse education. As this is an autonomous role, the successful candidate must be highly competent, a clinical and critical thinker and possess skills to efficiently coordinate and deliver patient care and education in collaboration with other health professionals.

Role requirements:

  • Work autonomously across a variety of clinical settings including, but not limited to, residential aged care.
  • Promotion of wound prevention and wound healing through the utilisation of clinical knowledge and experience to undertake holistic assessments.
  • Work alongside a range of health care clinicians, including general practitioners, Registered Nurses and care workers.
  • Provision of support, direction and education to patients, family, Registered Nurses, enrolled nurses, and care workers.
  • Provide education to patients and their family at an appropriate level that supports informed decision making.
  • Completion of accurate documentation that effectively records interventions, guides practice and supports interdisciplinary communication.

Mandatory Key requirements:

  • Current AHPRA Registration, National Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate
  • Current Australian driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Access to a home office to complete documentation and undertake telehealth appointments.
  • Proficiency in using software applications such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook, Zoom and FaceTime.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development: Hold/working towards a postgraduate wound relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrate relevant past wound experience (community nursing experience would be viewed favourably)
  • Demonstrate an ability to independently undertake advanced wound assessment utilising advanced skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the barriers to healing and the strategies, equipment and consumables available to support healing.
  • Be an open minded supportive individual able to deliver education to a wide range of people.
  • This role will require regional travel.
