Working in the Department of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) from Northern Sydney and Central Coast LHDs, with an office based in the Douglas Building, Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards or J2 Building at Gosford Hospital, Gosford with some Work from Home arrangements
What you'll be doing
The Senior Reporting Specialist is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of Structured Query Language (SQL)/Cerner Discern Analytics and Cerner Command Language (CCL) reports/extracts within NS and CC LHD. SQL/CCL reports are a critical component of any application implementation as they provide for regular and ad hoc reporting requirements as well as data extraction for other critical applications and mandatory reporting. These reports support the organisation's business intentions, services, processes, and information needs. This development takes place in a large and complex/diverse service industry organisation. The position is responsible for the quality and performance of the service.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Extensive experience and advanced skills in SQL or an SQL derivative (such as Cerner’s CCL). Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex client requirements deal with challenges creatively and achieve business and customer-focused solutions.
- Proven experience in displaying initiative and independence in resolving difficulties and problems encountered from day-to-day challenges.

- Proven experience in report/program development as well as a knowledge of relational database design and its impact on performance.
- Experience in change control management/version control processes and in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is desirable.
- Proven effectiveness in coaching or mentoring staff to build capability, continuously improving processes and advising managers, whilst always fostering a performance-based and customer-focused work culture.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in Unit Testing and troubleshooting issues.
