AddressA great opportunity exists with our Federal Government client in Brisbane CBD at an El1 level as a Senior Research Officer.
The Research and Evaluation team is responsible for ensuring that policies, practices and priorities are informed by trustworthy and robust evidence. The team aims to provide evidence-based decision-making within the agency and finds solutions to high priority issues.
About the role:
You will support the planning and conduct evidence reviews and primary research aiming to delivery the best available research evidence to inform the Department’s decisions. You will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to scope, develop and manage project plans.
- Designing and documenting protocols for environmental scans, evidence snapshots, scoping or systematic reviews of evidence relevant to the practice.
- Conducting searches of scientific and grey literature.
- Performing research tasks.
- Maintaining project elated records.
- Preparing and presenting research reports.
- Contributing methodological or subject matter expertise in research methods, psychosocial disability, early childhood interventions or neurological disorders.
- Supervising a small team.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and systematic reviews of research evidence.
- Be familiar with evidence synthesis methods.
- Demonstrated research experience in disability, psychology, medicine, epidemiology, education, economics, social science, statistics or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis using R is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in meta-analysis is desirable.
