Sitting with the investments team, you will be contributing to the implementation of the ethical investment policy through ESG analysis, integration, stewardship activities, and ESG reporting. Additionally, you will enhance business knowledge of global sustainability trends, participate in the Responsible Investment committee, and strengthen the organisation's position as a leading ethical investment manager in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform investment analysis across direct equities and fixed income with a focus on ethical/ESG analysis (including ESG profile, controversies, UN-SDG alignment and climate risk), ensuring alignment with ethical investment policies;
- Conduct annual reviews of all companies and issuers in the investment’s portfolios;
- Participate in the Responsible Investment committee, refining ethical investment approaches and integrating ESG factors;
- Manage submissions and responses to third parties, including UNPRI and RIAA;
- Contribute to internal and external ESG/ethical reporting, including quarterly and annual reports; AND
- Stay updated on global ESG trends and regulatory changes for risk and opportunity assessment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, economics, science, or experience with responsible investing;
- 5-10 years’ work experience across ESG within investments research (direct equities / fixed income experience highly regarded);
- Passionate about ESG, sustainability, and responsible investing;
- Broad knowledge across sustainability issues (e.g. climate risk, biodiversity, modern slavery, etc.);
- Strong analytical and Excel skills;
- Proficient and knowledgeable in utilising Bloomberg, MSCI, and/or ISS for analysis;
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with the team; AND
- Possess exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
