About The Role

This Enterprise Risk role forms part of Mercy Health’s Internal Audit and Risk Assurance (IARA) Function. We are a small, professional and high performing team who pride ourselves on delivering excellent risk and assurance outcomes and providing significant practical and strategic value to the Business. The profile of Risk Management at Mercy Health continues to evolve in line with complex and interesting industry dynamics – we are seen as an essential function to support effective decision making at key operational and strategic levels.

This is a critical role. We need a motivated and meticulous individual who can help us bring Risk Management to the next level.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Group Risk Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the risk and assurance components of the IARA program including, but not limited to:

  • Providing specialist technical analysis and advice on risk and control management;
  • Analysing significant operational and project initiatives through a risk management lens;
  • Developing risk and assurance reporting for senior stakeholders, our audit committee and board;
  • Developing, implementing and managing an electronic risk management system
  • Creating, maintaining and delivering an educational program for Organisation wide implementation.
  • Undertaking a range of assurance activities including control testing;

About You

We are looking for someone who has a few years of relevant experience, ideally in risk or internal audit. This is the perfect opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to step up from a Risk Advisor / Analyst position. The successful applicant must have:

  • Strong foundational knowledge and experience in risk management
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communication
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • (Essential) Strong Microsoft Office skills, and (ideally) experience using a governance, compliance or risk management database or system
  • Strong attention to detail
