We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Risk & compliance Advisor for our professional services client.
The role is based in the Melbourne office of this national firm and reports to the in-house General Counsel. The position is offered on a 6 month fixed term contract.
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing the Firm's general insurance policies, analysing terms and coverage, and identifying any gaps or areas for improvement. Additionally, you will assist in the development of a structure and framework for the Firm's compliance processes.
Responsibilities:
- Review the firm's general insurance policies to assess the extent of coverage and identify any gaps or areas for improvement.
- Analyse the types of cover provided and the limits associated with each type of cover to ensure that the policies are fit for purpose and provide necessary value.
- Evaluate the firm's current approach to capturing and storing insurance renewals, policy information, and nuances, and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Assist the General Counsel and the Chief Operating Officer in developing a structure and framework for the Firm's compliance processes.
- Draft or review the Firm's compliance register to ensure that all relevant compliance requirements are documented.
- Collate information about controls currently in place to manage compliance and identify any perceived gaps in those controls.
- Advise on the effectiveness of steps taken to assess the effectiveness of compliance controls, with a particular focus on review and sign-off processes.
- Identify potential tools or technologies that can enhance the Firm's compliance processes.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as law, business or finance.
- Track record in working in risk and compliance and ideally some experience in general insurance
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
