Purpose of the role
This Senior Risk Specialist position is a 6month fixed term contract and will provide senior level oversight and insight on Cyber, Technology and Data Risk that adheres to the principals of three-lines-of-defence and supports risk-based decision making. You will act as a trusted advisor and partner with the technology division to provide oversight and risk expertise to monitor the division and the manner in which they perform.
What will your key responsibilities include?
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and act as a trusted Risk Partner for Line 1 Technology stakeholders - monitoring and overseeing emerging and operational risks in the function.
- Provide Line 2 monitoring and oversight functions across of risk and control self-assessments, and control, issue and incident management.
- Reporting and escalating material Technology division risk matters including recurring and emerging themes to senior leaders.
- Consider and deliver thematic reviews on key risk topics to support the Group’s strategic decision making.
- Manage and embed all relevant internal policies, standards and procedures and ensuring align with regulatory standards and internal Risk frameworks.
- Champion continuous improvement through risk training and awareness.
What are we looking for?
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as IT Management and/or 7+ years’ experience in a Risk, Audit/Assurance or Compliance related function.
- Experience in the financial services industry, retail banking favourably considered.
- Sound knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance obligations and governance and control frameworks within ADIs.
- Demonstratable high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstratable ability to influence others and ability to challenge when required.
- Deep experience and skill at clearly conveying complex information and ideas through a variety of mediums to various audiences.
