The Senior Safety Advisor will provide advice and assistance on a broad range of safety, health, environment matters whilst providing high level support to the SHEQ Manager.
Based in Glenorchy with frequent travel across the state this role will be responsible for the continuous improvement of our quality systems and processes with an emphasis on enhancing our safety and environmental profile whilst maintaining compliance and quality with a continuous improvement focus.
Key accountabilities include:
- Work with key stakeholders to assist with the development of identified safety improvement opportunities
- Conduct and participate in regular site safety audits, toolbox meeting, Safety Committee meetings and Roadways Group inductions
- Provide practical support and coaching of WHSE matters to field employees, supervisors and managers with the ability to influence outcomes.
- Return to Work Co-ordinator with oversight from the SHEQ Manager
About you:
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (or similar)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Substantial experience in a safety leadership role in the civil construction industry or high risk environments
- ICAM Lead Investigator (desirable)
- Demonstrated knowledge in the applicable application of safety, environmental and quality ISO standards
- Practical knowledge and application of WHS and Environmental legislation
- Ability to develop and foster strong relationships with all stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and able to use and embrace technology
- Current drivers licence
