The Role
Bega Group is looking for our next Senior Safety Systems & Standards Manager, with a proven track record of developing, implementing, and maintaining safety management systems across complex, large organisations.
The position will be integral to achieving the Bega Group safety targets by engaging, influencing, and driving Bega's internal safety compliance and continuous improvement across the business.
As Bega Group offers excellent flexibility and work arrangements, this role may operate on a hybrid model, working from our Port Melbourne office and home.

Key Responsibilities
- Setting group safety standards, procedures, system requirements, and compliance framework and providing supporting system tools, documents, and training to ensure consistency throughout the business.
- Writing the group Safety Management System to a high standard and ensuring it is comprehensive, relevant, and targeted for its audience.
- Developing, managing, and reporting on an assurance program to audit site compliance with the group Safety Management System. Supporting continuous improvement through gap assessment summaries to improve compliance.
- Establishing a group safety-critical risk register with a subscription-based model for our manufacturing sites.
- Manage and analyse proactive and reactive safety data collected across the group and provide reporting summaries to various stakeholders, including monthly safety performance reports with KPIs and contributions to Board reports and Executive reports to support the Head of Safety in their role.
About you
- Degree or Equivalent Level in a relevant field (e.g., OHS, Engineering, Management, HR).
- Solid experience at designing and implementing a Safety Management System and safety assurance program within an FMCG, Manufacturing or Food production background.
- Demonstrated experience in participating in a safety cultural transformation program.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written language skills.
- An ability to influence and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
