About The Role
Our Metro Academy (RTO) are currently looking for a dynamic Senior Training Lead - Rail Safety to assist with leading and managing a team of Trainers to deliver a suite of engaging, thorough and compliant Rail Safety programs for Metro and external parties. In addition, partnering with Metro and industry stakeholders to define training needs required to meet Rail Safety standards as well as other initiatives in consultation with the Rail Safety Training Manager.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity predominantly based at our Metro Academy Training Facilities in South Kensington and Newport, however may require travel between various operational locations on the Melbourne Metro network.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Lead, coach, train and guide the Trainers to deliver quality and excellence in the delivery of learning design, training and student management while ensuring the team responds well to changing business and/or industry needs
- Ensure all programs meet the requirements of our regulated environment and adhere to all legislative requirements including ASQA and ONRSR
- Conduct work in accordance with the VET Quality Framework (VQF)
- Build strong, credible relationships with senior leaders, Metro Academy employees, students and Rail Safety stakeholders, operating as a trusted adviser and subject matter expert
- Deliver and oversee the use of high-quality training and assessment materials that provide the best balance between student needs and compliance requirements
- Foster relationships and manage external programs such as MSTEP and the MTM external safeworking providers
- Proactively identify opportunities for the improvement in training content and methodologies
About You
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or TAE40122 (TAE40110 with willingness to upgrade to TAE40122) is preferred
- Able to multitask and have high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience and qualifications in Safeworking (in the Rail industry) preferably as a Track Force Protection Co-Ordinator
- Relevant industry, education and training experience including the ability to facilitate training to large groups
- Demonstrated knowledge of VQF standards and the VET sector
- Strong leadership experience and ability to influence others to get a desired outcome for all parties
- Project management skills and/or qualifications would be advantageous.
