About us

Morphettville is a unique and vibrant entertainment destination, the home of the South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) and thoroughbred racing; and an exciting entertainment destination in metropolitan Adelaide.

In addition to racing on a weekly basis, Morphettville is a diverse multipurpose entertainment venue able to host a wide array of events including weddings, conferences, expos, markets and birthdays. Morphettville features a variety of function rooms and events space and is able to host events seven days a week for small to large groups

In addition, Morphettville is about to open an exciting new event facility, with over 1000 seats of capacity across two levels, overlooking the racecourse and Adelaide Hills. Due for completion in December 2023, this facility will form the cornerstone for events in the redeveloped Morphettville precinct.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Sales Manager to join our team and drive revenue growth in the vibrant world of hospitality, events and racing.

As a Senior Sales Manager, you will play a critical role in expanding our market presence and achieving revenue targets. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans, managing a team of sales professionals, and nurturing relationships with key clients. Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals.

• Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, setting clear targets and providing guidance.

• Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and industry partners.

• Stay updated on market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.

• Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, sales trips, trade shows, etc.

• Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective promotional materials and campaigns.

• Manage the entire sales process, from prospecting to closing deals and post-sale account management.

• Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients

• Supports the company’s service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

• Relevant Qualifications in Sales, Events, Business, Hospitality or related field

• Proven experience in successfully leading, motivating, and managing a sales team

• Significant experience in the MICE industry

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

• Proven project management experience

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop positive business relationships.
