About us
Established in 2006, Indo-Pacific Environmental is a Western Australian-based environmental consultancy that specialises in undertaking studies of marine and freshwater fauna, habitats and ecosystems. We are a small team that provides services and advice to a broad range of clients, including resource companies, government, and non-government organisations. We pride ourselves on being well-resourced and highly experienced in undertaking field-based studies, including remote areas of northern Australia. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced marine or aquatic scientist to join our team.
The Role
The position will be based in our Perth office in a full-time or part-time capacity, with a mix of field, lab and office work. You will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects including aquatic and marine biodiversity surveys, water and sediment quality monitoring programs and ecological health studies throughout Australia. As part of the role, you will:
- Undertake and lead field surveys
- Manage and analyse survey datasets
- Analyse and interpret laboratory analytical results
- Produce high-quality technical and compliance reports
- Assist in the preparation of management and monitoring plans
- Manage project timelines
- Liaise with clients and service providers
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and tender documentation
About You
We are interested in hearing from applicants looking to build a long-term career who have:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental, Biological or Marine Science
- At least four years industry experience in a relevant role
- Strong data management and analytical skills
- Expertise in the preparation of reports and documentation
- A valid "C" Class driver's licence
The following will also be highly regarded:
- Familiarity with water and sediment quality guidelines
- Familiarity with State and Federal environmental approval processes
- Honours, Master’s or PhD
