About this exciting opportunity
Our Senior/Research Scientist - Indigenous Science Integration position will lead and develop AIMS' capability in Indigenous Science Integration, to bring Traditional Knowledge and western science together. You will collaborate across AIMS science programs to foster best -practice co-design principles throughout the AIMS science portfolio. The position will also actively support professional development of Indigenous staff, including through the Indigenous Undergraduate Internship program, Graduate Program, and Indigenous Research Fellowships.
This position will make critical contribution to the delivery of the Indigenous Partnerships Policy and Enhanced Capability target EC3 in Strategy 2030 by fostering Indigenous partnerships, training and capacity building of future Indigenous Scientists.
About you
You will hold a PhD in Indigenous science, social science, marine science, ecology, or natural resource management including Traditional natural research management along with demonstrated experience co-designing and collaborating on research projects with First Nations Australians. You will bring experience in research methods appropriate for Indigenous-western Science Integration, including a commitment to and experience applying the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Code of Ethics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research.
Your research project management experience through the lifecycle of projects will demonstrate that you have the ability to apply critical thinking when developing research questions and concept design in consultation with Traditional Owner Partners.

- AIMS AOF Level 5 up to AOF 7 salary (dependant on appointee's qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience) ($117,806 to $174,225 per annum) plus 15.4% superannuation.
