As the Senior Secondary Design Engineer, you will deliver on design requirements for transmission and distribution protection and control secondary systems. This includes the management of external service providers to ensure compliant and fit for purpose Secondary Design solutions.
You will also be a subject matter expert for policy, industry best practice, standards, and resolution of technical problems related to the design of transmission and distribution protection and control secondary systems.
In this role you will provide specialist engineering advice and guidance to TasNetworks, customers, and stakeholders in order to ensure the delivery of compliant Secondary Designs including for major projects, electricity supply, and network augmentation.
Other responsibilities within this role include guidance and mentoring to other team members and allocation of works within the team.

About youA strong technical background in transmission and/or distribution electricity networks acquired from five or more years working in the electricity industry is vital to your success in this role.
Key to this role is a high degree of problem solving, independent decision making, organisation and time management skills, whilst maintaining a strong desire to mentor and coach a diverse team.
To be successful in this role you will have a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in protection and control and the preparation of device setting files and fault studies.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated performance in roles requiring well developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.
