Remuneration: $74,742 - $112,114 pa (pro rata) + 11% Superannuation + Salary Packaging
Location: The traditional custodians of the land on which we stand the Anaiwan Nation with connections to the Gumbaynggirr Nation of this area.

Senior Sexual Assault Worker

Where you’ll be working:
This is a job share role with another highly qualified and experienced Sexual Assault counsellor. The service is housed on the Armidale campus in a separate building to the main Hospital. Other Violence and Neglect workers are on site including social worker, and Child protection counsellor.
About the job:
This exciting and rewarding position includes providing specialist support for adult and child victims of Sexual Assault and has the challenge of co-ordinating the operational aspects of the 24/7 On-call Crisis Response Service operating via the Armidale Hospital Emergency Department.
This service provides trained staff to respond 24/7 for victims of violence abuse and neglect, including for medical forensic care and treatment, working closely with other health staff and external agencies such as Police and Department of Communities and Justice.
About You:
The applicant will have the experience and skills to provide confidential and compassionate service to victims of Sexual Assault.
Your Support:
The position is well supported through the Violence and Neglect Stream. Training for forensic processes will be provided. The psychologist working in the other 2 days of the role will provide orientation and support.
Requirements:

  • Must hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Applicants must be Female – Under Section 31 (2) (h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel between sites for work if required.
