BTG provides rescue medicines typically used in emergency rooms and intensive care units to treat patients for whom there are limited treatment options. Broad Function
Be an active member of the Production Team whilst assisting the Production Supervisor as Senior Production Technician. Assist to lead the Production Team whilst conducting a number of sheep handling activities (indoor and outdoor) for the immunisation and bleeding programs and associated activities for the production of antibodies in the BTG sheep flock, including the maintenance of appropriate records and documentation.
Assist in the maintenance of the Production Facility buildings and operation to the standard approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and in accordance with the principles of the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).

Principle Responsibilities
Support the production of low bio-burden serum from the blood harvested in the Production Facility by:
- Being actively involved in leading the teams through bleeding and immunising process
- Contributing to the planning and scheduling of the activities of production employees
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of SOP's for use within the Sheep Production Operation
- Conducting all operations and procedures with the utmost attention to detail, hygiene and safety
- Ensuring routine animal husbandry practices are carried out on an industry “best practice” basis and in accordance with the “Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals – The Sheep”.
- Ensuring that any suspected health problems are reported immediately to the Production Supervisor or Veterinarian and assist when required
Education and Experience
- Front end loader / Telehandler licenses would be advantageous but not essential
- Proficient IT skills mainly in Microsoft Office suite
- A tertiary qualification in Animal Technology would be desirable
Skills and Attributes
- A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is required
- Leadership skills are essential. Experience will be highly regarded.
- Good communication, literacy, written and numeracy skills essential
