Job description

We are seeking an experienced individual with strong initiative and proactive mindset that is looking to progress their career to join the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) contract as a Senior SHEQ Advisor. You will provide the overall support to the SHEQ Manager while spearheading the implementation, monitoring, and governance of SHEQ programs, systems, and processes for the Project Management Office within the contract. This role will see you located in Adelaide (Metro).
Short periods of intrastate travel across South Australia and inter-state travel maybe required.

What you will be doing:
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Ventia SHEQ procedures, objectives, strategies, initiatives and programs within the construction industry
  • Assist the SHEQ Manager in the implementation of the SHEQ management plans, emergency response and business continuity planning
  • Leverage experience and coordination experience in support of SHEQ Advisors effectiveness
  • Deliver on Quality Management throughout operations and projects
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and share outcomes and learning with the Project Management team
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with Ventia SHEQ Management System, Legislative and other requirements
  • Support operations to perform Contractor SHEQ evaluations
  • Lead and manage ICAM and Serious Incident investigations and drive learnings into the site and wider business as required
  • Ensure project readiness for external audits, undertaking internal audits and action tracking to ensure compliance with Ventia requirements, and certifications / accreditations are maintained
About you:
  • Previous proven experience in a similar senior position with a background in Construction Sector (Essential)
  • Minimum Certificate IV in WHS (Essential)
  • Current Australian Drivers' Licence (Essential)
  • Current Working With Children Check or must be willing to obtain one (Essential)
  • Lead Investigator training - ICAM (Highly Desirable)
  • Safety, or Quality or Environmental Auditor accreditation (Highly Desirable)
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Safety legislation, standards and codes of practice
  • Attention-to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ventia has been awarded the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) for the Government of South Australia. On behalf of more than 47 government agencies across South Australia, the Arrangement covers asset management for over 4,500 government-owned facilities such as schools, hospitals, and police stations.
