Senior SMP Estimator

We are looking for a Senior SMP Estimator to join our team in in Osborne Park.  Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be required to prepare detailed, accurate and timely estimates for projects with competitive pricing to best position Primero Group to secure future works.

Role Responsibilities:

• Review tender documentation and derive a thorough understanding of the requirements. 
• Prepare first principles cost estimates for tender and submissions in line with Client and Primero Group’s requirements. 
• Undertaking tender reviews, clarifications and risk analysis at tender stage.
• Ensure costs for estimates are based on realistic timing and cost structures 
• Use current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends when preparing estimates 
• Plan and allocate tasks to ensure deadlines are met 
• Establish and lead tendering / proposal review process through a series of gates with senior management to obtain estimation sign off 
• Prepare and lead handover from estimating to operations following contract award to ensure effective coordination of budget, schedule, delivery strategy, contractor selections, procurement, assumptions and risk and opportunities identified through tender process. 

Education and Experience:

• Successful SMP construction estimating experience for WA Resources projects ranging from $10m to $300m+. 
• Construction contractor EPC self-execute experience. 
• Degree qualified Engineering (or equivalent) and/or relevant industry specific experience.
• Site project execution experience is highly desirable.
• Proven success pricing and winning "First Principle" bids.
• Excellent planning, time management and delivery skills. 
• Sound commercial acumen including understanding project cost and scheduling. 
• Intermediate-Advanced user of Excel. 
• Well-rounded communication-verbal/written and leadership ability.
