Job description

Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to provide high level Social Work support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families as a member of the Ngarrama Maternal Health Service multidisciplinary team.

The Social Worker will work in partnership with families to optimise psychosocial, and cultural outcomes and improve engagement with health care services and community based social, emotional, and cultural support services. The Social Worker will work in collaboration with the Ngarrama Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Maternal and Infant Health Workers, Midwifery, and allied health team, to support women and their families.
