Our Design System team is growing and to support that growth we need a sophisticated design core. We are on the hunt for a passionate, experienced Senior Software Engineer for our Design System product and a champion for Design culture at Intrepid.
Here are some things you will be responsible for:
Propel the development and maintenance of a cutting-edge Design System, injecting vigour for consistency and improving efficiency across diverse systems.
Collaborate with a dynamic fusion of UX/UI designers, product maestros, and fellow engineers to spark the implementation and turbocharge the enhancement of Design System components.
Take on technical decisions, steering the Design System architecture towards scalability, reusability, and top-tier best practices.
Conduct code reviews, ensuring a robust approach for code quality, consistency, and alignment with Design System standards.
Lead the charge in the evolution of the Design System, navigating through emerging technologies and design trends to ensure we stay ahead of the curve.
Mentor junior engineers within the Design System team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deploy solutions that align with the Design System principles.
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to the Design System, optimizing performance, and delivering an unmatched user experience.
This is a full-time permanent role based out of our HQ on Collins Street in Melbourne and offers lots of flexibility for hybrid working.
You will have a passion for good design and along with it you'll bring:
A track record as a Senior Software Engineer, showing off your skills in developing and maintaining Design Systems.
Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar, with a strong understanding of front-end technologies.
In-depth knowledge of design patterns, component-driven development, and software architecture principles.
Experience in version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern development tools.
Strong problem-solving skills, showing your ability to handle a fast-paced, agile environment.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Sketch with a sharp eye for detail, ensuring a pixel-perfect execution of designs
