The ultimate goal for the Software Engineering team is to deliver high quality mobile applications on time & budget, to meet the Digital business roadmap.
Working under the mentorship and assistance of the chapter lead, The Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack is responsible for technical designing & implementing mobile applications for consumer and business customers. This role has responsibility for development, delivery and maintaining applications developed for frontend and backend.

- Mentor and train team members in the use of new development frameworks and technologies, whilst assisting to deliver quality software and meet business objectives.
- Rapidly respond to business opportunities and changes, by presenting, recommending, fine tuning IT solutions to business sponsors, and being able to convert the opportunities into real IT projects for the team.
- Empower the team members with adequate skills on the evolving mobile technologies or frameworks, through ongoing internal or external trainings, and on-the-job training.
- Innovative development and implementation of activities that are aligned with the business’ operations in customer order fulfilment and Optus' longer term IT strategies.
- Ensure retention of associated Intellectual Property associated with Software Assets under the development of third parties or in-house. This includes documentation, best practise in coding/intuitive coding, training and skill retention.
- Lead technical analysis of problems, suggesting solutions and ensuring issues are resolved to customers satisfaction, whilst maintaining comprehensive documentation on all aspects of integration, configuration or detailed solution design for each IT projects.
It starts with you!
- Relevant professional qualifications in relevant field of Computer Science and IT, complimented by hands on experience in app development especially Android, within large enterprises.
- SDLC for both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, web services and database integrations, Android app ecosystems, Google Play Store workflows and administrations.
- Good understanding of popular UX/UI design tools, such as Figma, Canva, etc.
- Proven experience of integrating with third party systems & SDKs, e.g. Google Maps/Analytics, Branch, Airship, SFMC, Paypal, etc, plus Web Services integrations – REST/JSON, OAuth 2.0, etc.
- A proven track record of success as a senior developer, end to end design lead in mobile app development and web services integration space.
- Hands on experience with Continuously Integration, Unit Testing and UI Test Automation.
- Sound Knowledge or experience in backend technologies involving spring boot, AWS services, Nodejs.
- Strong understanding of observability tools such as Dynatrace.
- Excellent written and communication skills together with demonstrated problem solving & influencing skills.
