We have an extensive wine list and knowledge in Italian regions & varietals favoured.
We need a team to help educate and sell our interesting and varied list.
We have a number of casual positions.
Full time roles are available for the right candidates.
General a’Mare Requirements:
· Current working visa or Australian resident
· Good English verbal skills
· Very good personal grooming standards
· Knowledge of Italian language is desired but not essential
· Experience essential, preferred working knowledge of Italian cuisine
· Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, use common sense and work as a team player
· Excellent attention to detail
· Positive attitude and willing to both learn, share, and participate
· Love of food and providing fantastic experiences for the customer!
· Hours can vary and can include weekend and holiday work
· All employees will be required to undergo a police check
Essential Requirements:
· Fluent English, written and spoken
· Polite and mature personal manner
· A warm and engaging smile!
· Wine Knowledge
· Experience & knowledge of food & wine pairings
· Customer Service experience
· Current NSW RSA Certificate
· Minimum of two years working in fine-dining restaurants
· Formal wine studies completed
Tasks include:
· Working with Sommelier on list
· Continuous training and development to ensure current knowledge
· Advising customers on wine pairing with food, occasion and budget
· Liaise closely with other restaurant staff, so that you are on hand to take drink orders and serve guests at the appropriate time
· Responsible for briefing other restaurant staff on the wine list, so that they promote particular wines and can advise customers
· Support tasks for the Sommelier during service, as required – tasks may include such things as pouring his completed orders, polishing glassware, helping staff take out or clear plates, and more.
