YOUR NEW ROLE
As a Senior Specialist Consultant, you will play an instrumental role in facilitating the recovery and rehabilitation of Defence Force Personnel who have experienced injury, illness, or disability.
Your clinical expertise and guidance will be pivotal in supporting individuals regain independence, improve their quality of life, and reintegrate into the community and the workforce.
This role if fully remote with a possibility to hire a shared office space if needed. You will:
- Complete comprehensive assessments and develop personalised rehabilitation plans that support a whole-of-person approach to rehabilitation
- Use lateral thinking and forward planning skills to identify potential return to work pathways in line with likely recovery milestones
- Utilise problem-solving skills, clinical experience, and knowledge of injury management to perform assessments and facilitate the return to work of claimants
- You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, their families, insurance companies, employers and other healthcare professionals to evaluate physical, psychological, and social factors
- Present case information to various stakeholders and providing credible recommendations/solutions to drive the desired goal
- You will provide supervision, mentorship and guidance to more junior team members who have not yet gained full DVA registration
WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN US?
- You will have tertiary level qualification and full registration as a Rehabilitation Counsellor, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker, Exercise Physiologist, Speech Pathologist, Nurse, Medical Practitioner, Occupational Physician, Physiotherapist or Osteopath.
- 3 years Occupational Rehab Experience including at least 1 year DVA/emergency/first responder experience
- Have previous experience completing structured assessments or have a passion for supporting an injured person to identify their strengths, transferrable skills and potential to establish a new career direction.
- Have experience with complex case management and supporting clients to achieve their return to life or return to work outcomes, despite challenging circumstances.
- 3 years Occupational Rehab Experience including at least 1 year DVA/emergency/first responder experience
- Drivers license
