The NDIS Team at Yarra Healthcare is a relatively new and dynamic multi-disciplinary team of physiotherapists, osteopaths, occupational therapists, Speech Pathologists, early childhood intervention specialists and therapy assistants to work with NDIS-funded participants/clients across the age spectrum.

Role
We are seeking a dedicated Speech Pathologist to join our team and deliver exceptional care to our clients. Your role will involve administering assessments, creating customised treatment plans, writing reports, implementing therapeutic interventions, monitoring progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
This is a community-based position working as a contractor to Yarra Healthcare, with NDIS-funded participants. We have pre-school, school-aged and adult clients with a range of speech, language and communication needs. Services are delivered in the client’s home or other places relevant to their lives, with the aim being to support the client to achieve their NDIS goals and increase their skills and independence.
Therapists work independently and with regular support, consultation and professional development in a collaborative team who are working to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. With your expertise, you will contribute to the improvement of communication abilities and overall quality of life for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, implement, and manage client supports in accordance with best practice.
Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose communication disorders in NDIS participants.
Writing NDIS reports: to advocate for participant needs and acquire necessary funding and support.
Treatment Planning: Develop individualised treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each NDIS participant, promoting optimal communication skills.
Intervention: In conjunction with the client, family, key worker, and support network, implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions that address speech, literacy, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing/eating disorders.
Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and participants to ensure holistic care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records, detailing treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes to meet NDIS requirements.
Education: Provide education and training to NDIS participants, their families, and caregivers to enhance communication strategies and tools.
Continuous Learning: Remain updated with the latest advancements in speech pathology, ensuring the delivery of current best practice therapy.
We are looking for experienced clinicians (at least two years in the profession) or early career clinicians who have relevant prior experience (e.g. working in the disability sector).
Qualifications & Registrations
- A Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology from a recognised institution.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with Speech Pathology Australia
- Working With Children Check
- Police Check
- NDIS registration
- Experience working with NDIS participants will be viewed favourably.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
