- 8 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience leading projects and designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
Preferred qualifications:- Experience leading a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team as an individual contributor or similar.

About the jobSite Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Google's services—both our internally critical and our externally-visible systems—have reliability, uptime appropriate to users' needs and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally SRE’s will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance. Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. Responsibilities- Be a technical leader in determining how SRE defends Google's products for users.
- Create, drive and deliver service level objectives that enable product reliability. Work closely with other engineering teams to reuse and understand existing frameworks.
- Identify systemic risks to the product as a whole, and determine strategies to mitigate.
- Be a technical change agent within the wider Google Photos organization, using data and analysis as motivation.
- Manage end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Participate in an on-call rotation.
