About the Position
As a Senior Student Success Adviser, you will play a key role in promoting and supporting Student Success at CDU. You will collaborate to develop and implement Student Success initiatives that provide early, targeted, and evidenced-based support to Higher Education students, with a focus on the first-year transition experience. 
You will work in a systematic way to ensure that commencing students are provided with the right support at the right time and will find creative ways to deliver this in large courses where students are both on campus and online. You will have responsibility for managing a small team in this role and will be responsible for further developing their skills in promoting and providing Student Success initiatives. 

About You

To be successful, you will require:

  • Completion of a degree with contemporary knowledge of higher education and first year transition, including issues specifically faced by online and international students.  
  • Demonstrated experience working in an advisory role and ability to exercise sound judgment when dealing with sensitive and complex matters.
  • Experience in the delivery of support programs and initiatives aimed at improving students' ability to navigate universities and to improve their self-efficacy, independent learning, and self-reflection skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to participate in and influence continuous improvement processes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build rapport with and provide support to students from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Demonstrated experience developing relationships with a range of stakeholders and the ability to gain 'buy in' for new initiatives. 
  • Experience working with data and a proven capacity to use organisational systems and databases. 
  • Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate, consult, negotiate, and liaise with students, academics, and professional staff, and to manage and build relationships cross-culturally and at all levels.
  • Demonstrated well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect, analyse and interpret data and proficiency in working with complex database systems.
  • Experience in advising and/or coaching students to achieve educational goals and success.

Remuneration 
Appointment to this role will be at Professional level 6 or 7 salary (dependent on skills and experience). The base salary will be in the range of $84,931 to $100,594 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $99,369 to $117,694 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
