Novita provides early intervention, rehabilitation, therapy, assistive technology and disability services to more than 4,300 people living with disability, as well as support for their families and carers. Our primary purpose is to enable kids, young people and adults living with disability and their families to participate in the community to their full potential.
About the role
The Senior Support Worker in Youth Programs contributes to the development of activities and working towards the goals of young people in programs such as Step-Up Life Skills, Transition to Work and The Recreation Program. The incumbent provides client centred leadership within a team by modelling best practice service delivery, with a focus on coaching and mentoring team members.
This position is full time, permanent based at in Salisbury. This position is paid in accordance with the SCHADS award, level 3.
As a Senior Support Worker Youth Programs, you will:
- model best practice service delivery with clients including person-centred, strengths-based approaches
- work directly with clients as rostered, providing and supporting others to provide support aligned with the individual’s care plans
- coach Support Workers to support best practice provision of disability services
- provide practical training, support and mentoring within your scope of practise and work with the Service Coordinator to identify areas for improvement
- carry out audits, induct new staff, participate in shadow shifts, respond to incidents, and fill shifts as needed
- deliver quality service improvement in line with the ‘Stepping into the Future’ project and SCERTS.
About you
As well as being aligned with Novita’s ICARE values, you bring:
- minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Disability or equivalent
- Satisfactory criminal history checks for working with children and disability services
- currency in all of Novita’s mandatory training requirements
- a valid driver’s licence

- exceptional organisation skills, flexibility, and a high level of attention to detail, with a proactive approach and the ability to respond to changing priorities
- tenacity, drive, and motivation, with highly developed communication skills and influence to achieve business goals.
We take safeguarding our clients seriously. As such, you must be able to provide evidence that you have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine (or hold a valid exemption).
