Senior Systems Administrator

• 2 year fix-term contract with the potential to convert to a permanent position
• Melbourne CBD location with working from home options
• Statutory Authority – VPS 5 Classification

The Role:

This Statutory Authority is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of our IT systems and IT Infrastructure.

The role requires the you to have a deep understanding of various operating systems, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Microsoft server roles & functions, cloud platforms, as well as the ability to lead and mentor junior staff within the IT Team. Experience supporting IT hardware and network technologies would also be advantageous.

The Responsibilities:

• Provide escalated 2nd and 3rd-level technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of issues relating to Systems and services.
• Document detailed System configuration for the purpose of quality, transparency, knowledge transfer and business continuity.
• Develop scripts to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configurations.
• Support the development of plans for backups and disaster recovery and execute those plans when necessary.
• Perform problem management and root cause analysis.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in a previous role as a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer (5 plus years hands-on practical work experience)
• Proven experience working with IT vendors and application support partners in developing working relationships, collaborating on projects and troubleshooting issues.
• Experience working within a legal environment and a knowledge of Government processes advantageous but not essential.
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and criminal procedures is desirable.
• Able to uphold ethical standards and values, act with integrity and maintain confidentiality.
