Role Description
The appointed individual will hold a pivotal role in managing Operations activities, prioritising safety, quality, delivery, and cost in that sequence. Their responsibilities encompass ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high quality of all supplied products. Set strategic direction in the strategy of vender development, stocking plans, warehouse utilisation, and create a best in practice manufacturing environment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
Competency Requirements:
- Proven experience in operations management with a focus on continuous improvement, preferably in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen, with relevant certifications preferred.
- Strong understanding of business operations and processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve goals and objectives.
- Proficiency in project management and resource allocation.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all operational activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Identify areas for improvement within operational processes and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Research and suggest improved technologies for manufacturing.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to drive positive change and achieve operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and optimize resource utilisation.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and track progress towards improvement goals.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify opportunities for optimisation and address operational challenges proactively.
- Provide leadership and guidance to operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to support operational objectives and drive business success.
