The Opportunity
The ICT team here at Telethon Kids are dedicated team of professionals who provide a continuous high-quality service and great end-user experience. With over 1000 users across multiple locations, our mission is to create a borderless collaboration space which is secure, always accessible and available through any modern device.
We now have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join this high performing team which is transforming the way that IT supports researchers and creates capabilities to support collaboration and new ways of work.
In this position, you will support the Institutes ICT capabilities and to improve operational efficiency using the latest enterprise class infrastructure, increase automation, customer self-service and ICT service levels. This role will also drive excellent project outcomes creating capabilities to support collaboration leading to new ways of work.
Some of your duties will include, but not be limited to;
  • Maintain an awareness of industry standards and practices, emerging technologies, trends, and their application to support service delivery
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the project team providing advice on risk assessments and mitigation
  • Develop policies procedures and other documentation required to support the systems, networks and server environments
  • Act as a Technical Lead for troubleshooting and problem resolution and be responsible for 3rd level support issues.
Conveniently located at Perth Children's Hospital, this role will be offered on a full-time basis.
About You
The ideal applicant will have significant experience supporting 1000+ users spread across divers locations and will value being part of an innovative, high performing team that strives to exceed expectations.
Along with this, your application must also be able to demonstrate the following;
  • Have proven experience delivering special projects over and above BAU activity, including consolidation, complex migrations, cloud adoption and establishing/proving DR capability.
  • Experience working within an IT service desk environment, experience in supporting Windows operating systems, preferably Windows 7 and above and Microsoft Office products
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Leverage soft skills, software and hardware configuration capabilities and formal IT frameworks
