We now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior System Engineer – Data Protection to work within the Defence environment in Canberra or Melbourne.
A current NV1 is required for this role with the ability to obtain NV2.
Purpose
Perform Data Protection support activities at a senior level as part of a broader team managing multiple Data Protection technologies for Defence. Lead BAU and project activities as required and provide support and mentoring to more junior staff.
Key Accountabilities
- Escalation contact for incident, problem and change activities.
- Implementation and maintenance of Data Protection services across multiple platforms and environments.
- Function as an SME supporting NEC’s BAU operations.
- Work with Project Services to achieve smooth BAU transition for new system integrations.
- Provide support and up skilling other team members.
- Contribute to documentation and designs, ensuring best practices are utilised and follow approved designs.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Expert knowledge in CommVault products.
- CommVault certification or equivalent knowledge.
- SnapManager experience is highly desirable.
- VMWare experience is highly desirable.
- ITIL V4 Foundation highly desirable.
- Experience in storage technologies such as NetApp, EMC or HDS would be a bonus.
- Defence experience is highly desirable.
