About the Business
The CP Midrange team provides ongoing support services to the department of Defence for the centralised computing infrastructure.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Systems Engineer – Level 3 to provide technical support and maintenance for the Datacentre Communications support services by resolving incidents, work orders and change requests within the committed timeframes. This is a senior role within the team and the successful imcumbent will be required to mentor/lead more junior team members.
Core Accountabilities:
- Ability to collaborate across teams, and multiple vendors to support the environment.
- Mentorship and a willingness to build knowledge transfer within and external to your team.
- Lead small teams.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in non-technical terms.
- Ability to review complex technical documentation for its suitability.
- Running small disaster recovery tests within the scope of the technology of the team
- Deliver patching and compliance outcomes
Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or similar preferred;
- An awareness of ITIL principles. Foundation certified preferred;
- A strong drive to mentor and foster junior team members.
- VMWare vSphere administration to an advanced level
- Experience with VMWare products such as Site Recovery Manager and vRealize Operations manager is high desirable.
- Experience with Nutanix is highly desirable.
- Experience with Cisco UCS, UCS manager and UCS Central
- Experience with MECM/SCOM/SCCM
- Windows Server administration to an advanced level
- Exposure to Hyper-V would be high desirable.
- Ability to work in an environment where priorities may not be clear.
- Understanding of ITIL and ITSM tools such as Remedy;
