The Role
Reporting to the Tax Director you will provide support to the groups in the Corporate Tax Department that are responsible for global income tax provision, transfer pricing and planning as well as work on multiple projects in support of Corporate Tax Department initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support and work with third party advisers with respect to Australian corporate income tax compliance, including transfer pricing.
- Review the monthly BAS.
- Monitor PAYG instalments.
- Calculate and arrange payment of withholding tax.
- Prepare the Tax Effect Accounting for the Australian entities’ Annual Reports.
- Support the global tax provision process as it relates to the group’s Australian entities.
- Maintain the Tax Fixed Asset Register.
- Prepare State Mineral Royalty calculations.
- Assist in responding to information requests from the ATO and WA state authorities.
- Reviewing and addressing internal tax inquiries related to indirect taxes, especially GST.
- Preparing quarterly segmented P&L files in support of Albemarle’s Transfer Pricing monitoring process.
- Maintaining data and supporting documentation for intercompany prices from Australia.
- Working with third party advisers to document and develop tax governance and tax control frameworks specifically for Australia.
- Partnering with personnel in other corporate functions and global business units to achieve Corporate Tax Department and company goals and objectives.
- Support maintaining up to date knowledge on tax legislative and regulatory changes.
- Supporting special projects.
About You

- Solid corporate tax experience gained in practice or industry, including Corporate income tax return preparation and Tax effect accounting preferably within resources and/or manufacturing industry
- Previous experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision
- Experience of BAS preparation
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP) is advantageous
- Proficiency MS Office products.
- Ability to work with people from all areas of a multi-national business and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Highest standards of accuracy, precision and attention to detail

Education / Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management
- Qualified CA or equivalent
