- Permanent, full-time position, in the long tail claims team
- Senior role in the team to be subject matter expert and mentor to the team
- Auckland based role, hybrid working with 2 days in the office.
- Identify and implement strategies to minimize Claims Cost and Leakage from the day-to-day claims management.
- Work with the National Claims Manager and Service Providers, to assess, respond and manage complex claims and CAT events.
- Determine policy response, lodge claims, set reserves and authorise payments within scope of authority and settle claims in the most cost-effective manner escalating issues as needed.
- Assist Claims Specialists with referrals on more complex matters including interpreting and actioning legal and expert reports, coaching and training where skills gaps are identified.
- Assist Claims Specialists with identification of suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims, notifying the Claims Specialist Team Leader and guiding Claims Specialist with appointment of investigator and briefing solicitors if further action is to be taken.
- Mentor team members
- An experienced Senior Technical Claims Specialist with a proven track record in supporting diverse longtail claims.
- Proven experience & proficiency in working through complex general liability claims.
- Track record in being the escalation and referral point for complex liability claims.
- Customer centric, with excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Preference in ANZIIF qualifications
- Analytical, can dig beneath the service and navigate ambiguity.
