Senior Technical Financial Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Technical Financial Accountant to join a prominent player in the aviation industry,committed to excellence in service and innovation. This is a key role in the external reporting team and its primary role is understanding the accounting impacts of historic and proposed transactions across the business.
The Role:

• Technical Accounting, research and analyze complex accounting treatments under AASB and IFRS.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new accounting policies and quantify their impact.
• Draft high-quality accounting papers and provide recommendations for review.
• Recommend changes to policies as necessary to ensure compliance and alignment with industry standards.
• Assist the Technical Accounting Manager in planning and facilitating the review of technical accounting items with external auditors.
• Review recurring journals, equity accounting for associates, dividend eliminations, and other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA qualification preferred.
• Strong technical accounting skills with previous experience in an accounting technical role in an ASX listed corporate or a Mid-Tier / Big Four Accounting Firm is desirable
• Thorough understanding of accounting standards (AASB, IFRS) and regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex accounting issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
